Westwood
is dominated by the influence of UCLA and its world class
Medical Center. Not only does the University provide an atmosphere
of intellectual endeavor, but it also offers superb musical
and dramatic performances.
Adjacent
to the University, Westwood Village bustles with shops, restaurants,
movie theaters, the Westwood Playhouse, and a museum housing
the Armand Hammer Collection of Art.
The
Wilshire Corridor is a stretch of luxury condominiums with
penthouses selling in the millions. The residential area north
of Wilshire Blvd. has winding, hilly streets with mature trees
and elegant traditional and Spanish homes built in the 1930's.
Homes south of Wilshire Blvd. tend to be equally charming,
while more modest in size and price.
Westwood
residents often work in Century City or Beverly Hills, its
neighbor. It is just five minutes to the freeway, which accesses
downtown Los Angeles and all other parts of the city.
